The annual Traveler’s Conference for healthcare travelers is here! I am super excited to see many familiar faces and meet many new ones. If you are struggling with what to pack check out: The Ultimate Packing Guide for TravCon and remember to leave extra space in your bag for all of the free swag that you will collect.
I think TravCon is the perfect meeting place to connect with others and learn about the industry. If you see me at TravCon please introduce yourself! I would love to meet as many people as possible.
I would love to meet as many people as possible at TravCon! Look for me wearing aloha inspired dresses and rompers that have floral and printed designs. No stuffy business clothes for this gypsy – I will be rockin my personal style!
Don’t forget to hashtag your photos on social media with #travcon2017 or #travcon17 to let others know what is going on.
For the therapists attending, it has been a struggle to convince therapists that TravCon is a healthcare travelers conference and not exclusively a travel nurse conference. For that reason, I encourage you to hashtag #travcontherapists to showcase that YES, therapists do attend TravCon!
Get Active on Groups and the App!
In 2016, TravCon introduced an app for the conference. The app is a wonderful for organizing, scheduling and socializing during the conference. The app is available from the app store and is called “Travelers Conference” by TapCrowd. The conference committee emailed details on how to log in earlier this week. If you cannot find the email, check your spam or promotions box.
In the app, you can view the schedule of events, plan your schedule and take notes at sessions. You also have options to socialize. There is an “activity feed” which is similar to the activity feed on a Facebook group or Twitter. Attendees can post pictures and updates from the conference. There is also an “inbox” where you can send and receive messages and a “photo gallery” where you can see all of the pictures posted to the app.
If you want to find people with similar interests or backgrounds, you can go to the “Attendees” section and select”categories” from the bottom right of the screen. Here, you can filter attendees by discipline and state. Thus, you can find other attendees who are the same discipline or from the same state as you.
There are also some very active Facebook groups during the conference where attendees post pictures, meet ups, etc.
Photo Walk With Laura from Nomadicare & Myself
Laura from Nomadicare, and myself (Julia) have teamed up to host an event after the conference Monday night. We will be holding a photo walk from Bally’s hotel to Margaritaville. We will be stopping for pictures at famous stops on the Vegas strip; including the Fountains at The Bellagio. Laura and I will be bringing our professional photography gear and can take pictures with our gear or yours. Bring your smiles and best poses!
To close: Viva Las Vegas! See you all soon!
