Prince Waikiki Hotel Review: Everything You Need To Know
Prince Waikiki Hotel is a modern, urban-chic hotel situated in Waikiki, Oahu, on the waterfront of Ala Wai Boat Harbor.
The hotel features a majestic infinity pool overlooking the harbor, multiple eatery options, and lush rooms.
Its location on the west side of Waikiki is within walking distance of the iconic Waikiki beaches, the Ala Moana Mall, and Ala Moana Beach Park.

Why Choose Prince Waikiki?
For many years, I lived and worked in Honolulu as a travel speech therapist. In fact, I lived in Waikiki and know the hotels well.
When I came back to visit, I chose to stay at the Prince Waikiki. It’s a hotel I never got to stay at while living on Oahu, but I’ve only ever heard wonderful things about it.
In particular, what I like about the Prince Waikiki is that it’s at the edge of Waikiki and close to Ala Moana Mall, Magic Island, and Ala Moana Beach Park. While a bit further away, it’s also possible to walk to Kakaako from the Prince.
The Prince has more of an urban retreat vibe. Given that it hosts many conferences, I actually went to one here while I lived in Oahu; it tends to attract more business travelers.
For me, a forty-something solo female traveler, the Prince matches what I was looking for in a Waikiki hotel.

Prince Waikiki Review
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would absolutely come back to stay here again on another visit to Oahu.
Here are a couple of things that stood out to me:
Wonderful customer service across the hotel
From check-in to housekeeping to the pool staff. Everybody was warm and welcoming. I was also thrilled to open the closet and see robes and slippers, which made me immediately comfortable and cozy in the room.
Bathrooms

I’ve noticed lately that hotels have received a lot of slack for having semi-private bathrooms.
The bathrooms at the Prince were not only private but also featured completely enclosed toilet stalls with their own doors.
The toilet also had a Toto brand bidet with heated seats and heated water, which is a huge amenity for me.
The bathroom also had both a shower and a bathtub. I enjoyed soaking in the tub after a day of hiking and exploration.

Location – Pro/Con?
I’m going to go into depth on the location of the Prince more in this post, but location is everything when booking a trip.
The Prince sits on the harbor and is at least a 10-minute walk from the sandy beaches of Oahu.
If you are looking for a hotel where you can step outside and be on the sand, this isn’t for you.
Price
Price will vary depending on the season, availability, and other factors.
During my stay in late winter 2026, my average nightly rate (including taxes and added fees) was $363.44.
I thought that was a good price for the hotel’s amenities, service, comfort, and location. There are hotels in Waikiki that charge upwards of double that amount. The location and experience of those hotels, for me, aren’t necessarily “worth it”.
If you want to compare hotel rates in Waikiki for your stay, I have a map below that you can customize to see rates for the days you plan to travel.
Update the map with the dates you are traveling to see the going rates for the Prince and other Waikiki hotels.
Prince Waikiki Location

So where is the Prince?
Prince Waikiki is located at 100 Holomoana St in Honolulu, HI.
It’s in the 2-mile stretch of Waikiki beach, which sits between the Pacific and the Ala Wai canal.
Here is the location of Prince Waikiki to some Honolulu spots:
- Daniel K. Inouye International Airport is 8 miles away, a 20-30+ minute drive depending on traffic.
- International Marketplace in Waikiki is 1.3 miles away, which is a 25-30-minute walk or a 10-minute drive.
- Ala Moana Mall is 0.5 miles away, a 10-15-minute walk or a 5-minute drive from the hotel.
- Kahanamoku Beach (the closest Waikiki beach) is a 10-minute walk.
- Ala Moana Beach Park is 0.5 miles and under a 10-minute walk to the beginning of the beach.
- Hawaii Convention Center: 0.8 miles, a 15-minute walk or an under-10-minute drive.
- Waikiki Yacht Club is 0.3 miles (a 7-minute walk or less).
What Are The Beach Options?
In Hawaii, all beaches are public. You can visit any beach in front of any hotel in Waikiki. You do not need to stay at a hotel to use a beach.
In fact, there are rental shacks set up around Waikiki to provide beach chairs, umbrellas, boards, etc for anybody who wants them.
So just because Prince doesn’t sit on the sand, it doesn’t mean you can’t use any of the beaches around you.
Something that makes Prince Waikiki unique to me is that it’s equidistant from the more busy beaches of Waikiki and the more chill city beaches of Ala Moana Beach Park.

Kahanamoku Beach, right in front of the Hilton Hawaiian Village, is the closest to Prince, and it’s about a 10-minute walk away from the entrance of the hotel.
Next to Kahanamoku is Fort Derussy. Personally, Fort Derussy is my favorite Waikiki beach. I like it because it has an expansive shoreline, the sand is generally smooth without rocks, you can often see sea turtles (Hono) swimming around, and it sits right in front of a shaded park.
You can walk further into Waikiki to the beaches in front of the major resorts such as The Royal Hawaiian and Moana Surfrider. Personally, I wouldn’t advise that as those beaches get more crowded, but it’s your preference.

If you don’t want to go to Waikiki, you are also 10-20 minutes away from Magic Island and Ala Moana Beach Park. While you won’t find any beach rentals here, there are bathrooms and showers along the park and shaded spots to relax out of the sun.
Prince Waikiki Pool

Prince Waikiki’s pool is located on its 5th-floor recreation area.
The infinity pool overlooks the harbor with stunning views. There’s also another pool on top of the infinity pool and a hot tub.
You can also dine at the Hinana Bar, which is right next to the pool.
There are plenty of chairs on the deck, and you can rent private cabanas.
Restaurant Options
As of the writing of this post in early 2026, there are 2 restaurants, a pool bar with food, in-room dining, and 1 coffee shop inside the Prince Waikiki.
100 Sails Restaurant and Bar
Famous for their Sunday brunch buffet, fresh seafood, and iconic oceanfront views.
Katsumidori Sushi Tokyo

Located on the first floor of Prince Waikiki, this is the restaurant’s only location outside of Japan. They specialize in fresh and local ingredients.
Honolulu Coffee Company
Right in the lobby, you can grab a cup of Kona coffee and a pastry from this delicious spot.

Restaurants by Prince Waikiki:

- Harbor Pub – dive bar under Chart House. If you’re in a pinch, they have excellent pizza.
