Las Vegas is a dynamic city that never sleeps. It offers an array of entertainment and sightseeing options that everybody can enjoy. For nightlife lovers, you can party until the sun rises and sleep all day. If nightlife isn’t your jam, there are still plenty of things to do in Las Vegas during the day.
From hiking in nearby Red Rocks to walking around The Strip and enjoying the unique culinary experience, Vegas has something for everybody, day or night.
I’ve visited Vegas over twenty times, and it remains one of my favorite places in the United States. There is always something new to see or do in Vegas, including spending time in the beautiful desert mountains surrounding the city.
As an aging millennial, I’m often up by 6 a.m. and in bed by the time the clubs open. I still immensely enjoy Las Vegas and all the fun things to do during the day.

Do A Las Vegas Food Tour
Food tours are one of my favorite ways to experience new places. They combine 3 of my favorite things: local guides, walking around a new place, and food. Las Vegas is no exception. You can book food tours of the strip and downtown to experience the local culinary gems of Las Vegas. Having a local guide on your tour lets you learn more about hidden spots and Vegas gems from a local perspective.
I had a great experience on a food tour with Taste Buzz and recommend them in Vegas.
Explore Fremont Street & Zipline
The Fremont Street Experience is the epicenter of downtown Las Vegas. It is a pedestrian-friendly encapsulated street filled with live music, bars, street performers, restaurants, and bustling casinos.
Walking down Fremont Street can be a multi-day event in itself.
You can fly down Fremont and explore it from above via ziplines. Slotzilla has the ultimate Fremont Street adventure, ziplining down the street. You can do a 2-block or 5-block-long ride. I did the five-block-long ride, and it was by far one of my favorite Las Vegas memories.
Tour Red Rocks Canyon National Conservation Area
A brief 40-minute drive from Vegas to Red Rocks will make you feel like you went worlds away. As the name suggests, Red Rocks Canyon has red and cream rock formations and a beautiful desert vista.
At Rock Rocks, you can drive the 13-mile scenic drive and stop at viewpoints for observation. You can also hike or mountain bike on the many trails in the park.
If you want to explore more of the Southwest’s natural beauty on a side trip from Las Vegas, you have many other beautiful options. I recommend Mt. Charleston, about an hour from Las Vegas, for higher-elevation hiking or skiing at Lee Canyon.
Zion National Park is about two hours away, and the Grand Canyon and Sedona are around four hours away.
Immerse Yourself in AREA15
AREA15 in Las Vegas is an immersive entertainment exhibit where you can dive into a world of interactive art experiences. Visitors can explore Meow Wolf’s “Omega Mart,” a mysterious installation that blends storytelling with vibrant visuals.
The venue offers virtual reality experiences, axe throwing, unique bars, and indoor ziplining. You can spend as little as a few hours or as much as a whole day exploring everything in AREA15.
Visit The Neon Museum
The Neon Museum tells the story of Las Vegas through the art and history of its iconic vintage signs. It has retired neon signs from Vegas legends like Stardust and Hard Rock. This outdoor installation lets you feel the merger of old and new Vegas.
Relax at The Spa
Las Vegas is home to many spas, ready for you to relax. Check to see if your hotel has a spa and its offerings. Many hotel spas have elevated amenities like saunas, pools, and meditation rooms where you can decompress for extra time.
Book a treatment and allow yourself extra time to enjoy the added amenities at the spa.
Skydive
Adrenaline seekers, this is your ultimate Vegas adventure! You can skydive over Vegas with views of the desert and the strip. Skydive Las Vegas will do all of the planning and work; all you have to do is show up and have fun.
While I’ve never personally skydived in Vegas, it’s been on my mind since fellow travel blogger Karrie told me she did it for her 40th birthday. Maybe one day!
Explore Street Art and Shopping in the Arts District
One of Vegas’s gems is its Arts District. Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of the strip, just a short distance from Fremont Street, this quirky neighborhood is worth exploring.
The district centers around Main and Charleston streets. It is filled with restaurants and eclectic stores selling everything from handcrafted pieces to vintage clothes and antiques. The streets are also filled with street art, which is fun to explore and photograph.
Splash in the Pools
Las Vegas is notorious for its pool season from March through October. A pool awaits you whether you want to take a dip, relax in the sun, get a cabana with friends, or go to a day party.
Stadium Swim at The Circa in downtown Las Vegas is the ultimate pool experience. It is open to hotel guests and non-guests for an added entry fee. Stadium Swim has multiple pools and several levels and is the town’s most extensive pool/sports bar complex.
Ride The High Roller
At an astounding 550 feet, The High Roller is the world’s largest observation wheel. You can take a sky-high loop around Vegas in a standard cabin or do a happy hour tour while taking in breathtaking views of the strip.
Visit The Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens
The Bellagio Hotel is home to a stunning display of nature that feels nothing short of magical. Inside the lobby is an indoor conservatory that changes its design seasonally. Because the display constantly changes, you can experience it repeatedly on each trip back to Vegas.
Watch the Bellagio Fountain Show
When you visit the Bellagio Conservatory, plan to view the fountain show every half hour from 3 pm to 6:30 pm during the week and starting at noon on the weekends.
The fountain show pairs a theatrical water display with music to create a moving experience.
The fountains become full at night, and securing a front-row spot beside them can be challenging. Go during the day to get an unobstructed view of the show.
Go Golfing or to Top Golf
Las Vegas is a golfer’s paradise, home to multiple golf courses within short drives of the strip. When I’m in Vegas, I accept that my golfing friends disappear during the day and re-appear at night after a day on the course.
If you want a more relaxed golfing experience, Top Golf Las Vegas is located inside the MGM and is not your typical driving range.
Top Golf has two pools, event space with concerts, and private cabanas you can rent with friends.
Snap a photo at the Famous Las Vegas Sign
Seeing the iconic Las Vegas sign at 5200 S Las Vegas Blvd is a must-do attraction. Go early because the sign tends to be chaotic, with everybody trying to get a picture at once with a distressed line.
Expect to wait in line to get a picture right in front of the sign or maneuver your way to the side of the sign to get a photo and skip the line.
Grab a Bite at Eataly at Park MGM
Visiting Eataly in Las Vegas is a must for food lovers looking to experience authentic Italian cuisine in a vibrant setting.
Located inside the Park MGM, Eataly offers a wide array of Italian food and wine, from freshly made pasta and wood-fired pizzas to artisanal cheeses and handcrafted desserts.
Say Bonjour to Paris!
Passing through the Paris Hotel transports you to Paris itself. The hotel lobby has murals and storefronts that recreate the famous Paris streets.
Outside the hotel, you can marvel at the large replica of the Eiffel Tower on display.
Walk the Strip
The Las Vegas strip, which is South Las Vegas Blvd, is just over four miles long and home to the city’s largest hotels and entertainment venues.
Walking down the strip is nothing short of fun. It has street performers, bars, restaurants, and epic people-watching. Seeing the items on this list will be an experience.
Remember, the journey, not the destination, matters most in life.
See The Flamingo Wildlife Habitat
Escape the hustle of the strip and step into nature in the Wildlife Habitat inside The Flamingo Hotel.
This four-acre Wildlife Habitat is home to relaxing water features, such as waterfalls and numerous exotic birds.
There is a group of Flamingos, Pelicans, other tropical birds, and local Las Vegas feathered friends.
Transport to Venice at The Venetian
Visiting The Venetian feels like you are stepping into Venice itself.
A mirror of the city, The Venetian was designed to replicate Venice. From hand-painted murals on the walls to a canal you can ride, The Venetian transports you to Europe.
Go Shopping
A shoppers’ paradise, Las Vegas is home to some of the highest-end luxury stores, Las Vegas outlet stores, and everything in between.
Some of the significant malls on The Strip include:
- The Forum Shops at Caesars
- Grand Canal Shoppes
- The Shops at Crystals
- The Miracle Mile Shops at Planet Hollywood
Play Cards
Last but not least is what Vegas is notably known for: casinos. If you want to try your luck in Vegas, the daytime can be an excellent place to start for those who are 21+.
The minimum wagers on tabletop games increase as the day progresses, but you can place some bets at the lowest cost per entry by playing during the daytime.
Of course, be mindful of your money, and don’t play what you can’t afford to lose.
Top Things to Do in Vegas During The Day: Final Thoughts
Las Vegas remains one of the top tourist attractions in the United States because it has something for everybody.
While many come for the famous Vegas nightlife, there are plenty of things to do in Vegas during the day to keep you entertained.
Enjoy your time in Vegas!
